Invitation to RDVIET partners to submit research proposals in 2010

In 2010, the project will be able to provide support to the RDViet network member for new pilot research projects. We invite you to submit applications, within the three themes agreed on by the network, following the process described below. We encourage joint applications which support comparative case study material around a common theme and team work. Justification must be given for the comparisons to be made. The examples given for each theme are based on priorities discussed at the Scientific Meeting 5-6/3 2010. They should be seen as indicators of common interests, but are not exclusive.

After calling for 14 full proposals for RDViet funding 2009, the scientific committee reviewed and commented on such proposals. As a result, 8 proposals were approved for support this year.

After calling for concept notes for RDViet funding 2009, it attracted the interests from many researchers within RDViet network and MSc graduates. By 1st April, 2009, the project received nearly 40 concept notes which mainly focused on three major research themes on (1) adaptation to changing conditions, (2) RD policy and practice and (3) options for livelihoods and reasons for poverty.

Since the calling proposals for RDViet 2008, the project has received 42 concept notes, among which 22 researchers were invited to develop full proposals. And 17 among those were accepted by the Scientific Committee to be supported by the RDViet. Here is the list of research topic approved by the project in 2008.

In 2008, the project will be able to offer Research Fund to researchers, staff within RDViet network, including the new master graduates and researchers among collaborating partners. Until now, the project has approved and supported around 10 research projects within different collaborating institutions for the first round of research funding.
