The 4th scientific meeting on Rural Change (March 10-12, 2008)

The meeting was held at Hue University Conference Hall at 3. Le Loi, Hue city, Vietnam. The main theme of this scientific meeting was on Rural Changes with specific attention on (1) Non-agricultural diversification of rural livelihoods, (2) Adaptation and risk management...

The objectives for the meeting were:


 - To present and share information on current research on the theme of rural changes

-  To exchange ideas, experiences and research methodology on studies as well as research needs on the themes;

 - To present PhD and master research and research plans and discuss ideas for further support within VS-RDE research co-operation program

The participants to this meeting included Dr. Tran Dung Tien - coordinator of the PMU, Prof. Adam Pain and Dr. Britta Ogle (SLU), representative from the MOST, MoET, MARD, invited speakers, all coordinators, researchers, PhD students, MSc students within RDViet partners.

 

The workshop included 3 sessions, starting with an overview on Rural Development, Rural Development policies and their impact on livelihoods, Livelihood improvement for poverty alleviation; the last session was for the MSc and PhD students. The detailed presentations were below:

 

Session 1: Overview and general on Rural development
